By Margaret Yip, Partner, GoGlobal

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of joining over 90 extraordinary women leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region at the CAREhER New Year’s Party in Tokyo. The event was a vibrant celebration of growth, innovation and connection. Together, we reflected on the milestones of the past year and looked forward to an exciting future.

CAREhER aims to empower leadership for women through community connections, conscious content and curated experiences. With the theme “AI & She,” the dynamic discussions at this event centered on how AI is reshaping businesses and inspiring women leaders to drive meaningful change.

It was truly inspiring to engage with so many accomplished women, each bringing unique perspectives to the table. As one of the panel speakers, I had the opportunity to present on the many ways AI is disrupting international business expansion. Members of our team also presented a demo with real-world use cases for how AI assistants can enhance productivity and business growth.

The lively discussions at this event demonstrate how AI is not just a buzzword. It’s a tool that’s already making a profound impact in our workplaces. In this blog post, I am excited to share some key insights from this memorable event.

Key takeaways on AI disruption

The integration of AI into leadership is redefining how we work, communicate and connect. By combining cutting-edge technology with human insight, leaders can unlock greater productivity, enhance workplace communication and preserve touchpoints that drive meaningful interaction.

Here are three key takeaways from our discussion:

  • Embracing AI: AI technology is transforming workflows by managing repetitive tasks. This allows leaders to focus on more strategic and meaningful work, boosting productivity across teams.
  • Empowering Communication with AI: By using AI tools to refine tone, women can craft more confident, assertive and influential communication styles. This bridges gaps and fosters impactful conversations in the workplace.
  • Keeping the Human Element: While AI can enhance efficiency, it’s vital to maintain empathy and human warmth. This is especially relevant in customer-facing roles but can also extend to the employee experience. Crafting memorable experiences and meaningful interactions remains irreplaceably human.

Another year of transformation: AI’s role in business growth

AI has become a driving force of innovation in the business world, and its momentum shows no signs of slowing. A recent report from World Economic Forum underscores this shift, revealing that over 80% of C-suite executives believe AI is accelerating workplace innovation. By 2030, it’s estimated that 70% of job skills will evolve due to AI.

While AI has immense potential to streamline processes and offer powerful insights, it also raises questions about its impact on job security and the human element in business. At CAREhER’s event, attendees engaged in meaningful conversations about how to harness AI responsibly and ensure that technological advancement doesn’t come at the expense of human connection.

The regulatory landscape around AI is rapidly evolving, shaping how we are legally required to approach its use. A key example is the recent implementation of the AI Act by the Council of the European Union. This groundbreaking piece of legislation is designed to balance innovation with the protection of fundamental rights, like privacy and democracy.

GoGlobal’s perspective: AI as an enabler, not a replacement

At GoGlobal, we firmly believe in the power of AI as a tool to amplify human expertise, not replace it. Disruption is inevitable, but we see an opportunity to innovate and improve how we serve clients and support our team.

For example, we’ve launched ChatGoGlobal, a generative AI chatbot designed to deliver rapid, reliable answers to complex questions about global business regulations, benefits, contracts and more. Unlike open AI tools, ChatGoGlobal operates on a closed, expert-curated dataset. This ensures accuracy and trustworthiness.

This development reflects our commitment to cutting through complexity and providing actionable solutions to our clients.

AI’s broader impacts on business

At GoGlobal, we see AI as a transformative force across all facets of business, enhancing efficiency while driving smarter, more inclusive practices. From recruitment and onboarding to performance management, AI is revolutionizing how GoGlobal (and our clients!) do business:

  • Recruitment: AI can automate hiring processes, from scanning resumes to scheduling interviews. This reduces human bias and promotes merit-based, inclusive recruitment, helping organizations build diverse teams.
  • Onboarding: By customizing onboarding plans, AI can help new employees acclimate to company culture, access tailored training and increase productivity.
  • Communication: AI-powered chatbots are revolutionizing employee support by providing instant, accurate answers to questions, fostering transparency and accessibility.
  • Performance Management: AI tools can analyze employee data to provide managers with actionable insights, streamlining evaluations and promoting data-driven decision-making.
  • Talent Engagement: By monitoring employee sentiment, AI enables organizations to proactively address concerns and foster a positive, engaged workforce.

GoGlobal’s commitment to AI-driven leadership

At GoGlobal, we embrace AI as a tool that enhances the services we provide to our clients and strengthens our team’s capabilities. By leveraging AI thoughtfully, we’re not just adapting to change. We’re helping to shape the future.

As our discussions at CAREhER highlighted, AI can be a balancing act. We must embrace AI’s potential while still preserving the human connection that drives meaningful leadership. At the core of GoGlobal’s strategy is a focus on people. While AI can streamline and support, it’s people who create impact, build relationships and lead with purpose.

The CAREhER New Year’s Party in Tokyo was a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation. By focusing on the intersection of AI and leadership, the event set the tone for a transformative year ahead.

At GoGlobal, we’re excited to continue supporting leaders and organizations as they navigate the evolving global marketplace – one powered by AI, grounded in expertise and centered on people.
