GoGlobal Support: Employer of Record (EOR) onboarding and compliance support in Colombia, Morocco, New Zealand, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and South Africa

The Challenge: Bridging Workforce Gaps Across Jurisdictions

Following the acquisition, the company faced a pressing operational challenge. Despite having a well-established HR team and a strong global footprint, it needed additional support to hire and manage employees compliantly in certain countries.

The transition involved onboarding employees in six countries: Colombia, Morocco, New Zealand, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. Each jurisdiction had unique employment laws, benefits structures and regulatory requirements.

These country-specific nuances added complexity. For example, Saudi Arabia’s gratuity payment rules and visa requirements meant that the standard Resign & Hire approach used elsewhere was not sufficient. Instead, GoGlobal designed a Termination & Hire framework to align with local regulations while protecting employee entitlements.

The transition also included employees at multiple seniority levels, from individual contributors to managers with long tenure. Senior employees often have more complex contracts, benefits and legal entitlements. This requires extra care to ensure compliance and maintain continuity.

“The client has a strong HR structure globally, but there were gaps in some jurisdictions,” explains Sariah Lutkin, Director, Portfolio Management at GoGlobal. “Our role was to fill those blanks. We made it possible for them to engage talent quickly, compliantly and without disrupting day-to-day operations.”

This engagement was not just about compliance. It was also about speed and confidence. For a large-scale acquisition under a tight deadline, any delay in workforce integration can impact business continuity, customer relationships and operational planning.

The Solution: Tailored EOR Approach

GoGlobal implemented jurisdiction-specific Employer of Record (EOR) solutions designed to meet the company’s operational and regulatory requirements.

  • Customized Framework: Most countries followed a Resign & Hire framework designed by GoGlobal, allowing employees to transition without interruption. In Saudi Arabia, GoGlobal applied a Terminate & Hire process to manage local gratuity obligations, ensuring legal compliance while preserving employee entitlements and morale.
  • Visa and Work Permit Support: Three employees in Saudi Arabia required visa support. GoGlobal coordinated the Iquama transfers, allowing for uninterrupted employment and business continuity.
  • Gap Analysis and Benefits Mapping: GoGlobal conducted detailed reviews of employment contracts and benefits for employees across all levels of seniority. For senior employees, this included careful mapping of tenure-based entitlements, bonus structures and leave accruals. By addressing these nuances, GoGlobal ensured a smooth transition without jeopardizing compliance or employee trust.
  • Local Expertise: Navigating labor laws across jurisdictions required on-the-ground knowledge, from tax registration to benefits administration. In Saudi Arabia, for example, GoGlobal guided the company through both complex gratuity rules and Saudization provisions. Local workforce arrangements complied with regulations, while also maintaining day-to-day business continuity.
  • Project Management and Stakeholder Coordination: Daily check-ins, weekly updates and proactive problem-solving kept all stakeholders aligned. GoGlobal acted as a single point of contact, distilling complex cross-border tasks into a clear, actionable plan.

“Speed and accuracy were critical,” Sariah notes. “We worked closely with the client’s team across time zones to anticipate challenges, provide compliant solutions and ensure the acquisition proceeded without operational delays.”

The Result: Seamless, Compliant Workforce Integration

GoGlobal’s hands-on, jurisdiction-specific approach delivered measurable outcomes:

  • Rapid Onboarding: Employees across six countries transitioned smoothly, avoiding operational downtime or business disruptions.
  • Regulatory Confidence: Complex labor and visa regulations in Saudi Arabia were handled flawlessly, mitigating compliance risk.
  • Employee Continuity and Morale: Customized transition methods preserved benefits and entitlements, maintaining trust and engagement among the newly onboarded workforce.
  • Global Coverage Expansion: The project enabled the company to fill gaps in its global footprint. Since this engagement, it has extended its use of GoGlobal’s EOR solution to Mauritius and Kazakhstan, allowing rapid scaling in other strategic markets.

“The client is using our EOR solution to fill global gaps and engage talent wherever they need it,” Sariah explains. “Our approach makes the complex simple, letting them focus on growing their business rather than managing operational headaches.”

Strategic Impact: Empowering Global Growth

This engagement illustrates the critical role GoGlobal plays in cross-border M&A.

By managing compliance, benefits and local employment nuances, GoGlobal enables companies to:

  • Onboard employees in countries without a legal entity
  • Maintain continuity in high-value operations during complex acquisitions
  • Expand their global footprint rapidly and compliantly
  • Mitigate compliance risk while protecting employee entitlements

“Large-scale acquisitions aren’t just about assets. They’re about people,” Sariah emphasizes. “With GoGlobal, companies gain the structure, speed and confidence to integrate new teams seamlessly across borders.”
