Industry: Women’s Health/Medical Devices

Year Founded: 2002

Headquarters: USA

Project Focus: Workforce transition in Switzerland following an acquisition, including aligning complex benefits packages for employees

Services: TUPE-compliant workforce transition, onboarding, G-Permit applications, social security enrollment, payroll implementation and benefits alignment

The Challenge: Closing the Benefits Gap

Following its acquisition of a European operation, Caldera Medical faced the task of transferring employees to the new Swiss entity. Under Switzerland’s Code of Obligations (Obligationenrecht), employees were legally transferred via TUPE regulations, preserving their employment rights.

The main challenge was aligning the workforce within a multinational benefits framework. Caldera Medical, with no prior footprint in Switzerland, onboarded dozens of new employees in Switzerland from a larger multi-national organization with more than 20 benefit policies. These included health insurance, pensions and other long-term plans. GoGlobal’s role was to close this gap, ensuring employees retained equivalent coverage while meeting multinational standards.

“Large-scale transitions are never just about moving people from one company to another,” explains John Pitstick, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Caldera Medical. “It was essential that every employee was onboarded quickly, compliantly and without disruption to ongoing operations. The GoGlobal team made that possible.”

To achieve this, GoGlobal:

  • Reviewed and aligned employee benefits
  • Procured matching insured policies
  • Generated side-by-side comparisons of benefits
  • Assisted in insurance negotiations to ensure complex policies were matched
  • Handled social security enrollments
  • Implemented payroll processes and ensured valid work permits

All steps complied with Swiss labor law while maintaining employee trust and operational continuity.

The Solution: Tailored, On-The-Ground Support

GoGlobal implemented a hands-on approach to meet both regulatory requirements and operational priorities. Employees were transitioned under TUPE regulations, ensuring legal compliance and protecting employment rights. At the same time, the benefits gap was fully addressed.

“Matching complex benefits across multiple policies and jurisdictions is challenging,” says Susanne Randerath, Associate Director, GPS at GoGlobal. “Our team worked closely with the client to make sure employees retained their health, pension and long-term benefits. This paved the way for a smooth, worry-free transition.”

GoGlobal also coordinated G-Permit applications, social security enrollment and payroll systems, aligning all processes with Swiss legal requirements and operational needs. Daily project management and proactive communication kept employees supported throughout the transition.

“The success of this project wasn’t just about compliance. It was also about ensuring employees felt secure, valued and ready for what’s next,” notes Linda Lim, Director of Portfolio Management at GoGlobal. “By handling the operational complexities, we enabled Caldera to focus on its mission of improving women’s health globally.”

The Results: Seamless Transition, Benefits Continuity

GoGlobal’s structured, benefits-focused approach delivered measurable outcomes for Caldera Medical:

  • Rapid Workforce Transition: Employees were successfully transferred to the Swiss entity under TUPE regulations without disrupting operations.
  • Benefits Alignment: All employees retained equivalent coverage, including pensions, health insurance, and other long-term plans.
  • Employee Trust and Engagement: Clear communication and benefits continuity preserved morale during the transition.
  • Operational Readiness: Caldera Medical gained a fully compliant HR, payroll and benefits infrastructure in Switzerland.

“GoGlobal’s support allowed us to onboard our workforce efficiently while maintaining complex benefits structures. Their expertise and attention to detail made the transition smooth and efficient.”
