Powering a Carve-Out with Precision: How One Global Tech Giant Scaled Across Borders—Fast

When a global leader in consumer technology and smart energy solutions found itself navigating a high-stakes carve-out across multiple countries, the clock started ticking. The newly created entity needed to stand on its own two feet—and fast. But there was a catch: the transition services agreement (TSA) didn’t cover critical back-office functions. That meant HR, payroll, payments, accounting, tax and compliance would need to be built from the ground up—in four countries, under aggressive timelines.

That’s when GoGlobal stepped in.

Industry: Technology, Energy, Supply Chain

Regions of Operation: Global

GoGlobal Support: Australia, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE

Employees: 28,000+

The Challenge: A Global Carve-Out on a Countdown Clock

Carve-outs are complex. There’s pressure to separate operations cleanly, meet buyer deadlines and avoid disruptions.

With operations spanning 24 countries and a global workforce of nearly 30,000, the carved-out business faced an urgent need to establish core infrastructure for a newly created entity. These functions weren’t carried over under the transition service agreement (TSA), leaving the team to build compliant, localized back-office systems from scratch in record time.

“There was no room for delays,” explains Sachi Watanabe,  Director of Business & Corporate Services at GoGlobal. “They were working toward strict timelines set by the buyer and every operational piece had to click into place across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously.”

The need was comprehensive: multi-country payroll, HR, entity management, payment, tax and compliance—all implemented in tandem and coordinated across internal and external teams.

The Solution: A Coordinated Global Rollout

GoGlobal was engaged from day one to design and implement a seamless, multi-country infrastructure plan. The priority was building local compliance frameworks and ensuring operational continuity in key markets, including Australia, Taiwan, Thailand and the UAE.

The approach included:

  • Entity Management: Local incorporation support and branch setup aligned to jurisdictional requirements and milestone deadlines.
  • Global Payroll: Setup and administration of compliant payroll systems tailored to each local market.
  • Payments: Timely and accurate disbursement of employee salaries and vendor payments—even stepping in with over-the-counter payments when online banking setups were
  • Accounting & Tax: Localized accounting processes and tax compliance frameworks to meet statutory requirements.
  • Global Recruitment: Talent acquisition support to build out local teams where needed.
  • HR Support: Ongoing human resources advisory and administrative services to ensure compliant employment practices.

When issues arose, GoGlobal’s on-the-ground teams delivered—fast. Local experts visited banks to initiate urgent over-the-counter payments, collected official documents, coordinated with government offices, managed company seals, and oversaw shipments. The flexibility and responsiveness of the team helped the client stay on track despite roadblocks.

Weekly alignment calls and shared dashboards ensured end-to-end coordination across service lines. Real-time communication was embedded directly into the client’s internal workflows, with a dedicated Account Manager acting as a central point of contact.

“We plugged directly into their Teams channels and built out shared systems for faster issue resolution,” says Sachi. “Our goal was to act like an extension of their carve-out team—not a separate vendor.”

What made the difference wasn’t just process—it was people. The tight coordination between payroll, payments and compliance – combined with local agility and embedded communication – turned potential delays into seamless execution.

The Impact: Operations Stood Up, Deadlines Met, Future-Proofed

With GoGlobal’s multi-country support, the newly carved-out entity was able to stand up mission-critical operations on time—and on solid ground.

Instead of navigating a web of local regulations, delayed entity setups and siloed vendors, the client had a single, responsive partner guiding the entire process. From incorporation and onboarding to payroll and tax, every piece came together just in time.

What could have been a fragmented, high-risk rollout became a coordinated, compliant launch across multiple jurisdictions.

“There were no shortcuts—just a tight timeline and a long list of deliverables,” according to Sachi. “We brought together the right experts in each country, made timelines visible and helped the client avoid compliance pitfalls before they happened.”

A Steady Hand Behind the Rollout

This carve-out demanded structure, speed and constant alignment. GoGlobal embedded directly into the client’s carve-out team, coordinating across product lines and jurisdictions to ensure a seamless launch.

“We weren’t just delivering services—we were building infrastructure,” says Sachi. “Each function—entity management, HR, payroll and more—had its own complexities. Our role was to simplify the rollout, connect the dots and make it all work.”

Built to Perform, Ready to Scale

This wasn’t just a carve-out — it was the launchpad for a global enterprise. With critical deadlines, multi-country complexity and zero margin for error, GoGlobal delivered the back-office infrastructure that kept business moving and growing seamlessly.

Today, operations are fully live in two countries, with onboarding underway in two more. Backed by a scalable, compliant foundation and an integrated delivery model, the new entity is positioned to expand with confidence. With GoGlobal’s support, the team isn’t just managing the present—they’re building for what’s next.

“Launching global operations after a carve-out is like assembling a jet mid-flight — every piece has to fit perfectly and there’s no room for error. We built that engine, tuned it and kept it running — across four countries, on deadline.”
